What is Soutaches?
The soutaches is an ancient technique, also called the Russian Spike, as its origins are sought in decorative creations that embellished the sumptuous dresses of the tsars and Tsarinas and in the bitters of the Russian military.
The soutaches technique has undergone a great evolution over the years but has been able to maintain its original beauty qualities, proposing itself nowadays as a refined technique for the creation of jewels and jewellery from different invoices.
The soutaches technique is based mainly on the use of a viscose webbing, from which it takes its name-called sujats or saucer-which is worked to the art to accommodate stones and cabochons of all kinds and to give life jewels of every kind, from scenographic necklaces with delicious earrings.
